Reports To: Program Manager                    Classification: Full-Time, Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Admissions Coordinator is directly responsible for recruiting prospective, qualified students to Skillpoint Alliance training programs.  This position facilitates the application, admissions, and enrollment processes for students. Skillpoint’s training programs are geared towards entry-level occupations in both the healthcare and skilled trade industries.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Recruit participants for all Skillpoint programs.

  • Maintain a presence with referral partners by tabling at events, attending job fairs, sharing fliers for current programs, and building/maintaining relationships.

  • Manage Skillpoint’s admissions email account.

  • Manage and respond to all inbound inquiries about Skillpoint Alliance and its programs.

  • Facilitate all aspects of admissions and enrollment processes for qualified applicants, including interviewing, assessing, and selecting applicants for Skillpoint programs based on eligibility, potential for success, and job readiness.  

  • Collect, enter and maintain all student record data.  Follow Skillpoint’s detail-intensive data collection processes.

  • Serve as an expert on Skillpoint programs and possible career opportunities.

  • Actively maintain and update recruitment presentation materials for programs.

  • Present to community groups, interested applicants, referral partners, and potential funders about Skillpoint Alliance and its programs.

  • Serve as an expert on Skillpoint’s grant and eligibility requirements.  

  • Maintain active knowledge of Skillpoint grant/project deliverable progress.

  • Continuously adapt and update Skillpoint’s admissions processes and procedures to align with industry and applicant needs.

  • Other duties as assigned; all team members are expected to assist with a wide array of responsibilities that advance the organization beyond the narrow scope of a job description.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Qualified applicants will possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.

  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a professional setting required.

  • Computer skills, including internet browsing, Google products, spreadsheet software, word processing software, and database management.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing a variety of tasks.

  • Highly organized and very detail-oriented.

  • A proactive work ethic, able to plan for and work towards goals several months ahead of time.

  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team.

  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.  This includes techniques for positive motivation, providing/accepting constructive criticism, the ability to decline applicants for admission, managing difficult people, and promoting teamwork.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and handling challenging interpersonal conversations.

  • A constant drive to innovate and improve; challenges the status quo and evaluates own performance.

  • Local travel is required of this position; reliable transportation is required.

  • 1 - 2 years previous experience with admissions, recruitment, and/or sales strongly preferred.

  • Excellent phone skills preferred.

  • Language skills in English and Spanish preferred.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Characterized as primarily sedentary work requiring exertion up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amounts of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

  • Significant computer work and a heavy volume of phone work are required.

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends, evenings, and holidays.

  • Requires local and occasional regional travel.

 

COMPENSATION:

Hiring range is $44,000 - $46,000 annual salary based on experience.
